Sibold: Time heals all wounds, or so say those who have never experienced true pain. More'n thirty summers've passed since I carried the standard of the Darklight Raiders into Cutter's Cry, but not a day goes by that I don't see the faces of the friends I lost that fateful day─Gerbald the Red and his loyal second, Aubriest Stillwater; Symon the Sweet, always armed with a jab and jest; our ever ireful mage Chiran Zabran, as quick to cast as he was to temper; Thormoen Thousandgil, never has there lived a man with a tighter grip, be it on his sword or his coin; and let us not forget One-ilm Alesone...

Sibold:
Though it's hard to fathom now, what with all the adventurers scamperin' about like rabbits in the spring, there was once a time when bands of mercenaries were who the city-states turned to when in need of a blade─the Darklight Raiders being the biggest and best of them bands. Ishgardian-funded forays into hellish pits like the Aurum Vale would earn us a king's ransom in a matter of days, though it would only take a night of devil's play at the Mirage to see it gone from our purses. But so was the life of a Raider. That is, until we took that job at Cutter's Cry.

Sibold:
My brothers and I had stood against herds of giant buffaloes on O'Ghomoro, snurble infestations on the Pearl, legions of cold-blooded Sahagin from the abyssal depths of the Indigo Deep, but none of that prepared us for the horrors we would face in Hellsbrood Holes. None of it prepared us for the chimera. The bards still sing of the day seven of the realm's finest warriors set off into the bowels of that forsaken place...but only saw one return─Sibold the Stoic, spared by the beast so that he may warn all others who would be foolish enough to attempt to despoil the chimera's lair...

Sibold:
Ah, my apologies. You did not come to hear the guilt-ridden ramblings of an old man...but, if you have a moment, I was wondering if I could ask of you a favor. The final wish of an ailing soul seeking peace with his past before departing on his journey through the Seven Gates. In each of the thirty summers since escaping from the maws of that terrible beast, I have returned to its lair to pay the proper respects to my fallen compatriots.

Sibold: However, the years have finally caught up with old Sibold, and try as I might, no longer can these bones make the trek alone. If it is not too much to ask, would you travel to Cutter's Cry in my stead, and place this bouquet of flowers upon the resting place of the Darklight Raiders?

[You go to Cutter's Cry to place the lilies. Once you're there, you place the lilies and speak to Norman who is nearby.]

Norman:
This is Cutter's Cry, a labyrinth of sand-ridden caverns. And you hear that? That sound like the whuffing snort when a fire catches? That's the chimera...not that I've seen it. Sure, go right on in, if you're that certain of your ability to make it out in one piece. Just don't expect me to go trotting in there after you...no matter how hard you wail and holler.

Norman:
Ah, you promised old Sibold the Stoic, did you? He's what's called a man of principle, he is. A little too much principle, I'd say. What's wrong with wanting to live when you've a wife at home big with child? Aye, the tale goes that rather than facing the fate spun for him by Nymeia, he hid beneath the mangled body of his leader and watched as his companions were torn apart, one by one...all so that he might return home to see his son born.

Norman:
Should he have died a hero rather than lived a coward? Was being able to see his son worth having the boy grow knowing his father was a craven, a disgrace to his friends and family? Should I ever find myself faced with a similar decision, would I have the courage to walk the righteous path? Now you know the true reason I will never step into that cave.

Seasoned Scavenger: There is one last thing I would ask of you, if I may be so bold.

Seasoned Scavenger:
We are now ready to return to Twine, but I am afraid that I picked up a rather nasty injury while fending off those beasts.

Seasoned Scavenger:
It is not serious, and should heal in time, but it will take a while for me to complete the return journey. I would be grateful if you could go ahead and let our friend know that we are on our way back. We will see you in Twine!

[You go to Twine to let the quick-witted Scavenger know what's going on with the Seasoned Scavenger.]

Quick-witted Scavenger: So, did you find my fellow scavengers?

Quick-witted Scavenger:
I am so relieved! My reputation is safe! And also, my friends are not dead!

Quick-witted Scavenger:
But one of them is injured, you say? I should make sure he at least reaches Twine before he keels over... Unfortunately, we Mord do not heal in the same way as Humes or Ronso, so their treatments will not work on us.

Quick-witted Scavenger:
He will need freshly prepared ointment to seal the wound, made according to our traditional recipe. While I can get most of the ingredients here in Twine, I still need two plump, juicy rock wrigglers.

Quick-witted Scavenger:
If you could go and catch them for me, I will take care of the rest!

Quick-witted Scavenger:
They like to hide in the crags, so try hooking them out with this knife. Time is of the essence, so please do not dilly or dally!

[You head out to collect the rock wrigglers.]

Quick-witted Scavenger: You have the rock wrigglers?

[You hand them over.]

Quick-witted Scavenger: Excellent! Once I've squeezed out their blood and mixed it with the other ingredients, the ointment will be ready!

Quick-witted Scavenger:
But before we leave, my friends wish to offer their thanks.

Seasoned Scavenger:
You were under no obligation to help us, but you did so without a thought for your own safety. We will never forget you!

Fledgling Scavenger:
And the rest of Twine is sure to be impressed by our adventures! I am glad to be alive to tell the tale!

Quick-witted Scavenger:
Your deeds will live on in the stories we share with our children, and our children's children! Fare thee well!

Level 70+ Sqidequest: The battle-ready Mord's prey has led him to Ladle.
Reward: 606 Gil, Masala Chai x2

Battle-ready Mord: They will not escape me this time, oh no. Who? Criminals! They ignore Mord law and shame us all!

Battle-ready Mord:
We must never take crystals from the Wall, for we believe that they can turn people into sin eaters. Even pieces that fall off are forbidden!

Battle-ready Mord:
But those swindlers collect them, sell them! Of course, they do not tell their customers where the crystals come from, but I know their secret.

Battle-ready Mord:
That is why I am here, to bring them to justice. Breaking our code, selling under false pretenses. Very serious crimes!

Battle-ready Mord:
I have tracked them this far and they will soon be mine! But there are too many to catch by myself and I dare not risk failure. Stranger, will you lend me your aid?

Battle-ready Mord:
I will circle around from the west of the palace while you approach from the east. Like the jaws of a zonure snapping shut! Take them alive if possible, but if they resist, show no mercy, for you will get none from them. When it's over, meet me back here.

[You go to confront the crystal peddlers in Nabaath Areng.]

Forbidden Crystal Peddler:
He's seen too much! Kill him!

[You defeat them and head back to the Battle-ready Mord.]

Battle-ready Mord:
Heh. I take it that's not your blood? The ones I caught also refused to come quietly. Well, what is done is done. They got what they deserved for spitting on our code!

Battle-ready Mord:
Whether the Wall's crystals have anything to do with sin eaters is not for me to say. What I do know is that without rules, without law, we are no better than beasts. Beasts, I tell you!

Battle-ready Mord:
Ahem! Excuse me. Before we part ways, here is your reward for punishing the wicked.

Level 70+ SQ: Petrig is eyeing your empty hand.
Reward: 606 gil
(First time in Crystarium.)

Pitrig: Aha, got you! Now, I just need you to do this brief survey for me. It will only take a few moments of your time.
Pitrig: Speak to the people on that list, and then return here and tell me your thoughts on the current state of the Crystarium. Your cooperation is appreciated!

[You go to find the people to speak to.]

Rosard: Good day, madam. What brings you here?
Rosard: Ah, a survey, is it? In that case, I shall gladly tell you of our facility!
Rosard: Here in Ballistics, we store and maintain the weaponry used in defense of the Crystarium. Before you, you see our pride and joy─the crystal cannons!
Rosard: These truly inspiring pieces of artillery unleash blasts of pure aether drawn from the crystal itself. The destructive power they boast will even obliterate most sin eaters, if you can believe it!
Rosard: It's slightly unfortunate that they're so difficult to aim, I'll admit─but that's nothing that the addition of a few more cannons can't solve! Just try to dodge a dozen different blasts coming in your general direction, you creepy bastards! Bwahaha!
Rosard: Ahem. That's the idea, anyway. I suppose I should let you get on with touring the other facilities─but if you have any more questions, you know where to find me.

Encumbered Amaro Tamer: Roped into one of Pitrig's surveys, were you? I'll try to keep this brief, then─for both of our sakes. And anyway, you're likely already aware that amaro are vital in the distribution and transport of goods, fleet and hardy as they are.
Encumbered Amaro Tamer: They can't transport as much in one go as a chocobo-drawn carriage, of course, but the time saved by their ability to fly more than makes up for that. There's no faster way to get something to the settlements and fortifications in Lakeland than by amaro, that's for certain.
Encumbered Amaro Tamer: You stand now in the primary area for loading goods for transport, and as you can see, the launch platform extends behind me. If you want the amaro to carry you, rather than a parcel, that can be arranged here as well─you need only speak to the tamers at the counter.
Encumbered Amaro Tamer: In fact, if you have not yet had the opportunity to ride an amaro, I wholeheartedly recommend that you do so while here. It's more comfortable than it looks, owing to the softness of their coats. Take that as my parting advice to you.

Szel Guanleu: This? This is Temenos Rookery, where we breed, raise, and train beasts of burden.
Szel Guanleu: You might have noticed that the staff is primarily Zun. That is because, as a formerly nomadic tribe, the Zun developed the majority of the techniques for amaro husbandry that are still in practice today, and many of us are trained in them from an early age.
Szel Guanleu: I personally pride myself not only on knowledge of my trade, but also the ability to impart it to others. It is much easier to learn something than to teach it, but unless each of us makes the effort to do both, all our ancestors strove for will someday be lost to time.

Chantilde:
Oh! Can I assist you in locating a particular volume?

Chantilde: Pitrig sent you to learn of the Cabinet of Curiosity? Very well─I shall endeavor to grant you insight into its purpose.

Chantilde: The many books that surround you have been collected from every corner of Norvrandt. Tomes of philosophy, history, art─but also faerie tales and personal memoirs.

Chantilde: Any written work, regardless of its level of sophistication or monetary value, is a significant, if small, portion of our collective knowledge. And that knowledge, as a whole, is what the Cabinet contains.

Chantilde: Of course, there are others far more versed in the depth and breadth of the collection than I. Have you spoken with Moren?

Chantilde: Excellent. Well, if ever you are interested in perusing tomes pertaining to a particular subject, either he or I would be more than happy to assist you. And for our part, we would welcome the addition of any volumes that you may happen upon during your travels.

Chantilde: The Cabinet may seem vast, but our collection must keep growing. There were once as many books in the world as stars in the sky─and someday there shall be again. If we cannot recover what was lost, we will rewrite it.

 [You go back to Pitrig.]

Pitrig: You've returned! So tell me─how do you find the Crystarium, thus far?

>> I am impressed by the various facilities if houses. [1]
>> I think its people are remarkably concientious. [2]
>> I am neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. [3]

Dialogue Responses
[1] Pitrig: As am I! They're the fruit of many years of laborious effort on the part of the citizenry. Here in the Crystarium, everyone contributes to bettering the city.

[2]
Pitrig: Right you are! Everyone here in the Crystarium has a part to play, and they do so with passion and dedication.

[3] Pitrig: Hmm, that is a rather vague answer. Perhaps I ought to refine the potential responses into a list of several specific choices? In which case, I'll need to conduct a survey about replying to surveys...

Pitrig: One of my own roles, by the by, is to conduct research for the Settlement council. We want our work to reflect community values and address outstanding areas of need─and the opinions of those who are newly come to the city are always valuable in that respect.

Pitrig: On behalf of the council, I thank you for taking the time to respond. And I assure you that your personal information will be kept strictly confidential.

Level 72 MSQ: The manager of suites is wearing a grave espression.
Reward: 540,000 EXP, 1026 gil
(Second time to Crystarium.)

Manager of Suites: Ah, begging your pardons, miss, but do you perchance intend to head outside?
Manager of Suites: If so, I would strongly advise you not to stray too far from the Crystarium. Word has it Eulmore has dispatched its military to Lakeland.
Manager of Suites: Given the timing, one can only assume they do not welcome the return of night. Even now, the Exarch is in the Ocular, deliberating a response.

[You head to the Occular to meet with the Exarch.]

Crystal Exarch: You are come at a good time. As you may have heard, we have something of a quandary on our hands.
Crystal Exarch: Laxan Loft, here in Lakeland. Eulmore has sent one of its airships.
Crystal Exarch: They have questions for us concerning the death of the Lightwarden. Their emissary makes his way here even as we speak.
Alisaie: I suppose the sky does rather give the game away.
Crystal Exarch: Indeed. 'Twas inevitable that they would come knocking. The only question was how soon.
Lyna: My lord. I am come with the Eulmoran emissary. May I show him in?
Crystal Exarch: A moment, Captain, if you would.
Crystal Exarch: Everyone, gather round.
Crystal Exarch: I do not wish to show our hand prematurely. Forgive me this liberty.
Crystal Exarch: Vanish!
Crystal Exarch: Enter.
Crystal Exarch: Well, well... The commander of the Eulmoran Army himself. To what do I owe the honor, General Ran'jit?
Ran'jit: The Lightwarden is dead, Exarch. Were your people responsible?
Crystal Exarch: You are clearly in some haste, my lord. But before I address your question, you must allow me one of my own. What is Eulmore's interest in this?
Ran'jit: His Benevolence Lord Vauthry is gravely concerned that the actions of an ignorant few may jeopardize relations between man and sin eater.
Ran'jit: Should it transpire that the Crystarium is guilty of abetting the villains responsible for this outrage...
Ran'jit: My lord has decreed that it suffer the same...retribution.
Crystal Exarch: I see. Since you have been so candid, I too shall speak my mind.
Crystal Exarch: Regardless of who is responsible, the Crystarium rejoices in the Lightwarden's death, and welcomes the return of the night sky.
Crystal Exarch: If Eulmore considers this tantamount to aiding those you term “villains,” then by all means carry out your retribution.
Crystal Exarch: Know, however, that even should every innocent soul in the Crystarium perish, nothing can stop that which has been set in motion.
Ran'jit: <sigh> Folly. The death of one or a thousand thousand sin eaters changes nothing.
Ran'jit: The world is dead, and writhe as we might, like maggots in its rotting corse, it will not be reborn. Only by my master's grace may we live out our days in peace.
Ran'jit: But I waste my breath. You have made your stance clear. I shall relay your words to Lord Vauthry.
Ran'jit: In the meantime, you would do well to counsel any here who have done more than merely “rejoice” in recent events to throw themselves upon Eulmore's mercy. Promptly.
Ran'jit: One last matter. We are searching for a young artist and his assistant. Know you of whom I speak?
Crystal Exarch: An artist and his assistant... No. I cannot say I do.
Ran'jit: What a pity. Should they reveal themselves to you, I bid you hand them over at once. My master is most eager to see them again.
Alisaie: Am I imagining things, or did he just stare straight at us?
Crystal Exarch: I fear he did.
Crystal Exarch: The general is not a man to be trifled with. He is a warrior of fearsome repute who has led Eulmore's army since before Vauthry's time, when the nation still spearheaded the fight against the sin eaters.
Crystal Exarch: One does not command the world's mightiest army, and for so long, without possessing exceptional instincts.
Alphinaud: If Eulmore chose to send such an individual, we must assume this talk of retribution is more than an idle threat.
Alphinaud: While we are grateful for your support, my lord─we cannot in good conscience put your people in harm's way.
Crystal Exarch: 'Tis noble of you to say, Master Alphinaud, but my people have been in harm's way since long before you arrived.
Crystal Exarch: Eulmore has ever yearned to rule over what remains of the world. Even should we surrender the Warrior of Darkness to them, they would find some other pretext upon which to invade.
Crystal Exarch: The people of the Crystarium know this only too well, which is why, when the time comes, I am certain they will fight to the last man.
Crystal Exarch: If truth be told, I would not have been surprised had Ran'jit declared war here and now...
Lyna: He may have reason to delay.
Lyna: According to reports, the Eulmoran forces at Laxan Loft were observed taking a prisoner.
Lyna: A young woman believed to be none other than the Oracle of Light─Minfilia.
Lyna: It may be that General Ran'jit wishes to convey her to Eulmore before commencing hostilities.
Lyna: Having mentored generations of Minfilias, it would not surprise me if he had made her capture his chief concern.

>> Wait, is this the Minfilia? [1]
>> I'm sorry, "generations of Minfilias"? [2]

[2] Crystal Exarch: Ah, of course. How remiss of me. I had intended to speak to you of Minfilia. There is, however, much to say, and precious little time in which to say it...
Crystal Exarch: I think it best that you seek out Moren at the Cabinet of Curiosity. He will be able to enlighten you.
Crystal Exarch: Alphinaud, Alisaie─would you care to accompany your friend? You doubtless have insights of your own to offer on the matter.
Alisaie: All right. Though I'm still not sure I understand it all myself...
Crystal Exarch: In the meantime, I will set about making provisions for war.

[You speak with The Exarch and Lyna one more time before leaving.]

Crystal Exarch: If Minfilia has indeed been captured, I daresay we will see another familiar face anon. But first things first─pray seek out Moren at the Cabinet of Curiosity.
Lyna: We will continue to watch the Eulmorans.

[You go with the twins to find Moren.]

Alisaie: Whatever you think Moren's going to tell you about Minfilia, it won't be what you're expecting. Just...trust me.
Alphinaud: It seems an age since we bade Minfilia farewell...

Moren: Yes? If you're after books pertaining to the Warrior of Darkness, I'm afraid most are out on loan at present. They are experiencing quite a surge in popularity.
Moren: Oh, you wish to learn about the Oracle of Light? Then it would be my pleasure to assist!
Moren: ...After I have finished off some few outstanding tasks, that is. While I attend to them, perhaps you could fetch me a book: The Illustrated Tale of the Oracle of Light, it's called.
Moren: Though it's intended for younger readers, it provides an excellent summary of the subject matter, and the artwork is quite lovely besides! I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone with an interest in learning about Minfilia!
Moren: ...But you must see for yourself. The book should be located on the level below.
Moren: Should, I say...for while there is a place for everything here, not everything is always in its place─despite my best efforts. In short, if the book is not where it should be, it will almost certainly be somewhere it shouldn't. So, uh...good luck!

[You find the book Moren asked for.]

Alphinaud: No luck as yet...
Alisaie: Is there a stepladder we can borrow?

Moren: Have you found the book?
Moren: Yes, this is the one! I hope it wasn't too difficult to track down.
Moren: I'm happy to say I've finished all my pressing tasks. If you want to call your friends over, we can begin learning at once!
Moren: Without further ado, then...
Moren: It began a hundred years ago, when the Flood of Light threatened to swallow Norvrandt. Just as all seemed lost, a savior appeared who halted the all-consuming radiance. A maiden with hair of spun gold and eyes of clearest sapphire.
Moren: Naught was known about her save that her name was Minfilia. And for delivering the realm, she came to be revered as the Oracle of Light.

Moren: After stopping the Flood, the mysterious maiden vanished without a trace. But fifteen years later, her name would unexpectedly reappear in the annals of history.
Moren: When sin eaters laid ruin to the Kingdom of Voeburt, a young girl was discovered who was immune to the creatures' blighted touch.
Moren: ...One with hair of spun gold and eyes of clearest sapphire. She was hailed as the Oracle reborn and came to likewise be called Minfilia.

Moren: Enlisting in the Eulmoran Army, this Minfilia fought and vanquished countless sin eaters.
Moren: Alas, like so many other soldiers, she eventually met her end in battle.
Moren: Yet with her dying breath, she whispered unto her grieving comrades, “Minfilia will return.”

Moren: And true to her words, some years later, another young girl was discovered who possessed the selfsame eyes, that selfsame hair, and those selfsame powers.
Moren: She too took the name Minfilia. She too fought sin eaters as a soldier of Eulmore. And she too fell in battle. Many more were to follow in her footsteps. And so the cycle continues to this day.
Moren: ...And that concludes the tale.
Moren: By their valor and sacrifice, these women have saved Norvrandt on numerous occasions.
Moren: And were it not for them, we might never have learned of the Lightwardens and their nature.
Alisaie: They sound like formidable warriors.
Moren: Some, perhaps... The truth is rather less simple. Though the Oracle is reborn with certain common traits, she does not inherit the memories or the knowledge of her previous incarnations.
Moren: All of the Minfilias thus far were discovered as ordinary girls, unversed in the ways of war and ignorant of the power they harbored.
Moren: While some embraced their fate and devoted themselves to training, others did not... But all were made to face the sin eaters, and all died to keep our hopes alive.
Alphinaud: What can you tell us of the current Minfilia?
Moren: She was found by the Eulmoran Army some ten years ago and taken into their care.
Moren: ...Or rather their custody. She was a prisoner in all but name. For by that time, under Lord Vauthry's rule, Eulmore had already abandoned resistance in favor of decadence.
Moren: Minfilia was an uncomfortable reminder of the war they no longer wished to fight. A potential threat to the peace. And so they kept her under lock and key.
Moren: For a long while, we heard nothing more of her. We couldn't even be certain she was alive, save that it was in the Eulmorans' best interests for her to remain under their control.
Moren: But then, three years ago, a gallant soul stole into the city and rescued her from their clutches! Just like a hero from the tales!
Alphinaud: Indeed. Well, I believe we now have a good grasp of Minfilia's tale. Thank you for your time, Moren.
Alphinaud: Might I trouble you for a word, Sanlie? Outside?

[You go outside to meet with Alphinaud.]

Alphinaud: As you will have already surmised, the gallant soul who rescued Minfilia was none other than our own dear Thancred.
Alphinaud: They have since been wandering the land together, never remaining in one place for long─which is why we have not yet had a chance to meet them.
Alisaie: We know that Minfilia journeyed here as Hydaelyn's emissary to halt the Flood of Light.
Alisaie: It could only be her that the people of the First witnessed a hundred years ago. The original Oracle of Light.
Alisaie: But while there's plainly some connection between the woman we knew and her namesakes, the fact that these girls do not share her memories must surely mean they are not the same person.
Alisaie: Thancred has to understand that.
Alphinaud: I have no doubt that he understands. The question is how he feels.
Alphinaud: Regardless, the Thancred we know would not forsake his charge.
Alphinaud: If she has been captured, we may be certain he will not stand idly by.
Alisaie: Hmph, there you go again, talking in your roundabout way. If you think we should rescue Minfilia, just spit it out.
Alisaie: It just so happens I agree with you.
Alisaie: It's quite clear that this Minfilia possesses Hydaelyn's blessing.
Alisaie: And it wouldn't hurt to have a second such individual on our side. Right, Sanlie?

[1] Quite.
[2] One's generally been enough... But fine.

[1+2] ???: I see you've made up your minds.

Alphinaud: Exarch! What brings you here?
Crystal Exarch: A report and a proposal.
Crystal Exarch: First, the report. Our scouts have confirmed that the Eulmoran forces at Laxan Loft do indeed have Minfilia in their custody.
Crystal Exarch: For the present, they are holding her there, but we can be certain they will move her to Eulmore ere long. Should that happen, we may be forced to give her up as lost.
Alisaie: So if we mean to act, we should do so quickly.
Crystal Exarch: Which brings me to my proposal.
Crystal Exarch: I ask that you entrust this undertaking to us, the people of the Crystarium.

Catty: Aye, I think we've got enough for the moment. Fish keeps us healthy, see, and everyone needs to eat their share!

Local Merchant:
Sells every category of thing
------------------------------------------
Arnar:
Greetings, stranger. You here to stay, or just passing through?

>> What do you do here?
Arnar: Until recently, I would've called myself a fisherman. Now, though, I seem to be in charge of organizing our catch for the buyers from Eulmore.

Arnar: Those free citizens are a particular lot, see, and they'll pay good coin for any exotic fish we reel in─not that our profits amount to much in the end.

Arnar:
I imagine before the Flood, we'd have had the whole ocean to trawl... With the way things are? Some days we struggle just to fill our own bellies. But be that as it may, I mean to live here until the day I die.

>> What kind of place is this?
Arnar: Well, Stilltide's mostly a home for fishermen to come back to─somewhere to sleep and drink bad liquor.

Arnar: The name comes from how the Flood has frozen the outer seas, and turned the tides here all sluggish and slow...or so I'm told.

Arnar: No few folk have chased their dreams to Gatetown, hoping for a spot in Eulmore. The rest of us, though, we'd rather starve than stoop to begging from lords and ladies.

Lady outside of the bar:
 Heading in for a pint?

Theva: Yes, dear? Buy a drink or out you go. The seats are for paying customers.

Katliss: You look like you've got skills of the sort we need. Would you be interested in putting them to use at the Mean?

Katliss: Wonderful. We can never have enough hands to do all the work that wants doing.

Katliss: To help get you started, I'll give you an overview of our operations.

Katliss: Just let me know when you have a moment.

Katliss
: Ready to learn about our operations? Good, good.

Katliss: So, as I may have already told you, the Crystalline Mean is a center for the procurement and production of those items that make city
life possible. From daily necessities to military provisions, we deal in just about anything. A storehouse and workshop rolled into one, we are.

Katliss
: Now, the Mean is composed of five facets─that's our fancy name for divisions. Each facet is a collective of folk skilled in certain fields, who work together to provide for the Crystarium.

Katliss: Firstly, there's the Facet of Forging. As you can probably glean from the name, its members are experts in metalworking. The woman you see there is Iola, the proprietress of the Iron Bellows. I'm told she's been sorely pressed for help lately.

Katliss: Next, we have the Facet of Crafting, which brings together artisans who work with leather, cloth, and wood. Among them, there's even a lass who specializes in the restoration of artwork and traditional handicrafts. She doesn't appear to be present at the moment, though.

Katliss:
Moving on, we have the Facet of Nourishing, whose mission is to ensure that our denizens are fed and healthy─and I speak not only of people. Bethric there is the resident veterinarian, and he's charged with looking after our trusty amaro.

Katliss: Then there's the Facet of Gathering, formed of miners and botanists who procure resources all across Norvrandt. Overseeing the group is Qeshi Rae, a knowledgeable─if eccentric─woman. If you have an inquiring mind like her, though, I daresay you'll get along.

Katliss: Last but not least, the Facet of Fishing. Aside from reeling in the bounty of the realm's waters, members also cultivate marine life. Frithrik there speaks for the gathering, and whatever folk may say of his leadership, none can doubt his skills and knowledge as a fisher.

Katliss: And that's the five facets of the Crystalline Mean. Under the direction of the Settlement council, each does its part to ensure the survival of the Crystarium.

Katliss: Well, that's the idea, at any rate. The reality is most facet members are individuals with individual interests. They're often busy with their own endeavors and can't always make a meaningful contribution to the common cause.

Katliss
: What this means is the Mean suffers from a chronic shortage of hands, and every facet is always looking to bolster its roster with new talent. I encourage you to make yourself known to whichever one is a fit for your skills.
